If it's a creative writing, that would be a good idea, but if in formal writings like research, I suggest present or deal the words straightly. However, if you plan to use that quote in the introductory portion of your research, that would be great and something new indeed.

is the quote first of all strong? Is it relevant? If the quote is perfect as an overview for your research paper then it's a good idea.

Whenever i write papers, i never use quotes to begin them. Its way too... straightforward for me, i always try to analize the topic and elaborate on it first before i put in any form of quotes.

Yes, I think this would be good. Just choose a invigorating quote that grabs the reader and really makes him/her think.
