How is the fact there are more whites than blacks in prison racist?

Apparently liberals want quotas on who can be sent to prison..

Blacks are a minority of the US population, yet commit a majority of the crimes- hence the majority of prison inmates are black.

Blacks and liberals insist this is rascist- they think there should be just as many whites in jail as blacks..

How is the fact that blacks commit more crimes, are caught, tried and imprisoned proof that the jails are racist against blacks?

Black commit 44% of all crime and are in prison.

So that means that 54% is commited by mostly whites and hispanics. This was mentioned on a liberal netwark CNN.

There are 2 million black people in jail..that leaves 28 million black people who arent.

The post with the website..is just plain bias. How come they dont talk about the white serial killers and ..i mean its a entire book discussing black crime...shouldnt we be worried about ALL crime?

I don't think that it's racist as a "fact" but what this "fact" succeeds in doing is antagonizing the black race and justifying the hatred and racism that goes on in this country. I hate being thought of as being a "criminal" just because there happen to be a lot of black people in jail. I don't look at a white person and go "Hmmm...he could be a child molester" just because a majority of the child molesters in this country are white men.

Also, police brutality and racial profiling account for the large number of black arrests in this country. There's a sociology to it that never gets mentioned. It's just "Blacks make up a large proportion of the prison population" which tranlsates to the average person as "Blacks are dangerous. Be careful around them." and I just don't like the way that sounds.

i'm contained in the united kingdom and we've a larger percentage of Blacks in detention center than we do white human beings, and that i comprehend it is an similar contained in the U. S.. This is one of those truths that black people hate to hear. It obviously does not mean that all black people are criminals, but it does point out that they are more likely to commit crimes than whites. In actuality, the percentage of black crimes committed is even higher than what is recorded. This is because many blacks do not report criminal activity to the police because of a general feeling of distrust of authority in many black communities.

I don't think in itself it is racist. Rather, I think it highlights certain inequalities. In some communities they have what is called "feader schools". These schools literally feed kids into the prison - based on numbers. No one doing anything REAL to fix the schools is where racism, classism, community and family degredation collide.

Also, since they are finally changing the crack cocaine charge to be equal to the powder cocaine laws is a step in the right direction.
