I still remember the day - I was in grade 6 and the teacher was called to the door, and she came back crying and told us the President of the US had been shot. A sad day indeed.

I was in 5th grade and I was taking a geography test that I wasn't prepared for. The principal came into the classroom, told us what had happened and said that school was closing down for the day. We stopped the test (gratefully) and left for home. It was a very sad day.
I lived in Hillsboro, Texas, which is close to Dallas. My parents both worked in Dallas. My dad was a sports reporter for the Dallas Times Herald, so he actually knew most of the players in that drama.
I remember being really mad the next morning (Saturday) when we got up and turned on the TV and discovered that ALL our Saturday morning cartoons had been pre-empted. Yes, as I child, I was kinda superficial.

The assassination of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the shooting of Texas Governor John Connally. The loss of a husband to Jackie and the loss of a daddy to two beautiful little children Caroline and John. The loss of Camelot and a very rude awakening to the American Public all happened November 22, 1963.

I'll never forget it.... I was in my 4th grade class adn someone came in to make the announcement that President Kennedy had been shot. One girl in the class got hysterical. We were sent home and of course, everyone watched what happened on tv all the way through that sad funeral. It was awful.

If you have that much information, you should be able to figure it out, but it's the anniversary of John F Kennedy's assasination in 1963.

I remember that day quite well. I was doing some work at the U.S. Embassy in Iran and the order came to shut everything down and close up prepared for attack.

While I sure wasn't a JFK fan, I've never believed in politics by bullets. And, we sure weren't better off with Johnson as our president.
