Definitely BETTER in games. Most of the readily available benchmarks are based on the X2 3800+ and X2 4200+. You can just interpolate:

However, real fun begins when you overclock it to 2.4gHz or better.

The Intel Pentium Dual-Core will be alot faster because a AMD64 Athlon 4000+ is only a single core processor and on the other hand a Intel Pentium Dual-Core is a dual core processor. The more cores in a processor the faster it will be.

AMD processor usually has more Cache built into the chip.

They are better for graphic intense processes. Games, and multi process software applications like Photoshop or Video editing.

suggest 4000+ x2 , get dual core AMD will be much better than pentium dual-core(the 9 series).

i think that amd is faster for gaming but the intel will be better for more office apps
