If you like reading non-fiction, about what goes on nowadays - I recommend these two -

1) "Under the Loving Care of the Fatherly Leader"
written by Bradley K. Martin

2) "Rogue Regime"
written by Jasper Becker

These two well-written books give an insight about the North Korean Government.

Fiction?

Try all the books written by Clive Cussler.

The hero is Dirk Pitt, with his sidekick Al Giordino. These are well-written.

hands down overall lord of the rings BUT i read the hobbit first which i thought was easily as good as any of the "3" lord of the rings books.
for 10min bursts and if bored guinness book of records is always entertaining. And when i was a bit younger i read "you dont know me" by david class is brilliant. If youve ever been saddened ie depressed or suffered from anger for a period in your life its really compelling, as it is even to your average joe.
hope this helps

That's so hard, I can't name just one. There are several books I keep going back to

Wild swans(3 daughters of china) I read it every few years and it always seems new to me.
Perfume, by Patrick Suskind.
Lord of the Rings
The Apprentice, by Tess Gerritsen.

I'm gonna stop there as I could go on and on.

When I was younger TRUMPET OF THE SWAN by Lewis Carrol I believe. Of course all of Harry Potter. BALANCING ACT which was a great financial book, by a woman for women but great advice in general.

Anything by Julia Cameron, the artist's way and the right to write (my favorite) she is awesome. The way of the Peace Warrior by Dan Millman
