I know that we have been somewhat poor and that radical changes have to be made, but lets start looking towards the future. Hopefully the new manager (whoever that is) will have the courage and foresight to make radical changes to the team and the FA will do something to stop the flood of foreign players that reduce the pool of talent we have to pick from.
We have been great before and can be again!

how true,we should also stop saying 1966,we cant live in the past, the next new manager should be able to do his job and not what the press,or match of the day hosts tell him who to pick, these players are paid to do a job, footballers think they are gods,we as fans want good football week in week out ,the prices of tickets, demanded by clubs should put a good game on not a one nil or a draw we want to be entertained, would you want to be short changed when you go shopping, think of it the same next time you watch a game.

Get real 2-4 years to turn it round? Wait till the sky money collapses like in Scotland, then when you have to use young english players, a generation will grow up behind these who have an opportunity to flourish. So more like 20 years+?

And that's if the FA then has the patience, along with the clubs, and just as much, the fans and media, to put up with results while actually nurturing footballing talent, instead of railroading one dimensional six foot kicking robots into every academy in the country.

Good luck by the way.

There has to be a total makeover in management philosophy and there has to be be a realistic time-frame to get this downward spiral inching back up to respectability. This can't be achieved without realizing it may not have hit the bottom, but - as you say - the blueprint is for the next 2-4 years. Patience isn't something that will be in great abundance, but will be the only way to escape utter mediocrity.

I agree, what's done is done. There's no point constantly going on about it, it won't change anything.
For years now, we've needed to take one step back, to take two steps forward, and hopefully this is the step back for us.
We've got a couple years now to build and I hope the new manager takes advantage of this.
There's a lot of deadwood in our squad. We have some really good players in the u-21's so maybe things can be brighter with a decent manager?

Nope, if you read some of the questions posed by some English fans, you will se that their arrogance and naivety deserves to be put in its place.

As soon as they wake up to that the better.
