For a hearty, adult-size portion, I'd use a Depend diaper.

Not as sturdy as a paperplate but much more absorbent!! But won't it soak up all the gravy?? Eat fast or you'll have to suck out the gravy!!

That's a good idea, it will really help with the clean up, especially if you use the super absorbent brand.
