That's going my last question. I am planning to get certified MCSA and get a job as Windows System Administrator. Is my age an issue for that type of job? Should I also get my feets wet using linux? Thanks guys.

It is never to late for anything.
I am biased towards NIX operating systems, I would suggest you delve in to Linux, particularly RedHat.

RedHat's certifications are more credible and require a deeper understanding of its OS.

In a corporate world age should never be a factor in hiring.

Unfortunately certification has to be taken with a grain of salt in that getting certified does not truly prove what knowledge you have in something.

It also depends what type of job you are after.
If you do have experience in system administration plus your MCSA then it is a great thing to have.

If you are not experienced in system administration, expect to hire on as a echelon 1 or 2 support. (help desk)

This is my personal experience in this subject and i could be wrong.

But please please do not think you can not do anything because of age.

I work with an older lady and she started off not knowing nothing about computers and now she is doing all types of SA work like exchange administration, AD account administration, backups, file permissions ....

Why would you think that age is a problem? It would be a good career. Go for it.
