Yes it is normal to have a bit of bleeding for a day or two after having a pap smear. This bleeding/spotting is caused because of irritation from the brush used to take some of the cells from further the cervix for further evaluation. If this has continued past 2 days I would recommend getting in touch with your doctor for further evaluation of the situation.

ok this used to happen to me! its not your period but when they do a smear test they sometimes scrape you a bit too much and this is it. theyve made you bleed a bit. i can imagine you feel a bit sore down their. put a period towel on and take it easy. you'll be fine in a day or so. take paracetamol for the pain if your feeling uncomfortable.
its definitely not your period as you have a smear test in the middle of your cycle. hope your ok. email me susan.lamb@merseymail.com id like to help you if i can xx

Not if your period is not due. However......you can have a show occasionally after having a smear done. But it should not be excessive or heavy. If it is and your period is not due then see your nurse/GP
