Then she would have to accept whatever decision the mediation came to, and that would be unlikely to be in her favor if she was unwilling to even turn up. Unless there was a very good reason why she couldn't - hospitalization or motor accident. Then she should contact the courts or her legal adviser to make other arrangements prior to the actual date.

it may be considered contempt, it wouldn't look good as far as custody. Maybe you should ask Brittany Spears for advice and how that is working for her?
