Obviously......he like's classic rock and folk music. As to what type of guy he is.....who knows, you can't exactly tell a lot about a person by the music they listen to.

These are all songs from about 1970 to 1980. He has listened to a wide range of early music or maybe picked these up from his parents. Overall this is very soft rock, but they are beautiful, melodic, well known songs. If there's a theme, IMO it has to do with relationships, our need for them, and the difficulty of making them work. This is psycho-babble but: maybe he's been hurt in a previous relationship and is afraid of getting burned again. He could be saying to a past partner, "I know it's hard, we've made mistakes, we're not perfect, it's not your fault or mine, but it hasn't worked out and it's over."

Or to a prospective or future partner, "Relationships are hard, mistakes are coming, we're not perfect, it's not your fault or mine, but this is not likely to work out, or only has a chance to work out if we avoid the pitfalls these songs points to."

He also may have never listened to the lyrics and just likes pretty, soft rock songs.
