Yes..switch, belt, shoe, slipper, and a real paddle they bought from South of the Border (the one between NC-SC) when I was seven. Usually it was just backhands or punches.
I don't spank my kid. Ever.

No, they either used their fist or a belt or a yardstick. Or my stepfather just picked me up and shook me as hard as he could, till my teeth rattled! Remember those paddles with a ball on an elastic? Those were bad. When my sister got one for her birthday, she started crying, because she knew once the ball came off it was going to be a weapon!

My parents used to make me and my brother go into the kitchen drawer and bring them a wooden spoon. The whole way to the kitchen I used to wonder if I could make a run for it, but I never got up the guts to try it........lol!

the strap... it hung just inside the bathroom closet door. It was an old razor strap. My brothers and didn't even like to look at that thing, so we never opened that door... and prayed my dad wouldn't either.

Yeah, they sure did. That or the belt, wet jeans out of the washing machine, good old-fashioned hands, etc. Sometimes it was whatever was within reach.
