well actually even if someone saw you pick it up you can walk to a store or something and pretend you are returning it but you aren't really going to

I agree with keeping the money and mailing them their other stuff back because I'm not a theif and wouldn't try to use their cards or identification (have no use for that stuff while the owner does)

One Christmas week I found a small pink change purse lying on the floor of the local shopping mall. It was stuffed with $20 bills probably around $200. I turned it into mall security and phoned back later to see if anyone had claimed it. Mall security informed me a twelve year old girl had picked it up and was crying her eyes out. Seems her mom had sent her shopping for Christmas with all the money the single mom, (who had to look after the child's younger siblings) had.

This happened about ten years ago and the thought of that girl getting her purse back with the money intact has given me the best Christmas happy thoughts then and ever since.

No matter how poor you think you are, there is always someone poorer.

If the wallet had ID i would turn it in, and i would hope someone would do the same.if it was someone i hated..welll honestly i would prob take if i needed it, didnt need it?..then i would prob not give it to the person i hated. If there was no Id with the money i might keep it....however there r more important things than money ike driver liscences soc numbers all the stuff u keep in a walllet and needs to be turned in to the police or the store where found...u can also put certain items in Any mail box and it will be returned (i.e. liscence and social card) however with as many non trusting ppl , i would be leary turning those items loose in the mail...lol

A) As long as I didnt have someone claim & proove it to be theirs, I would keep it under this cercumstance.
B) Again, as Long as I don't have an owner and proof of ownership. I sure wouldn't let someone else take a chance of keeping what I found. That would be domb. : )
C) If I KNEW the owner and I despised them, That doesn't matter, cause in this case I WOULD give it back. Fotr the reason I KNOW who it belongs too. The human side of me, wouldn't be happy, BUT I know in God's eyes I would have done the right thing. & If it were me who lost the wallet or purse, I would want the same respect, NO matter what.

I believe it is up to the persons values. Some would turn it in with the money, but so many would keep the money. It's like some kind of a test. If it was your wallet, you'd be happy if the money was still in it, right? Remember, what goes around, comes around.

A) maybe depends on the crisis, if I can't feed the kids or afford medicine for them then it's a gift from God and I'm keeping it

B) amount doesn't matter w/r/t my decision

C) I'd drop it off with the cops, possibly in the next state. If the person really despised me then I might return it in person.

LOl. Well I like the rule finders keepers and unless someone comes up to you and asks for the wallet back I'd keep it and even if someone asked for the wallet back I'd probably play stupid to try and keep the cash lol. Oh and if you throw the wallet away make sure it ends up in a garbage bag.

I found a wallet at Walmart during the Christmas season. It had over $200. inside. I turned it in immediately. I pictured the owner frantically searching for it. I know if it were mine, I would be grateful to have it returned.

I would turn it in regardless of the situations above. Stealing is stealing....

It is not other people seeing me do it that would bother me, i have to live with myself. Besides, i believe what comes around goes around. I have lost my purse several times in my life - it ALWAYS has been returned to me as i left it. When i find a wallet or purse i make sure to find it's owner or hand it in just as i found it. :)

If I really know the person it belongs to, I would take the money and return the wallet. If the person noticed the money was gone I would say something like oh I guess someone must have taken the money
:]

Keeping it is theft no matter how you try to justify the situation.

Keep it and hopefully bad Karma / bad Luck will follow you,

Maybe not today, or tomorrow but in the future for sure.
