I think Henrik Lundqvist, Sidney Crosby, and Vincent Lecavalier may prevent him from the award

It's way to early in the season to guess who's going to be at the top of everyones list later.
Anyone who has watched ATL recently will realize that Kovalchuk has become a far more mature player than in the past. He plays defense now, passes much better and is more of a team player.
-That being said, he'd have to really stay hot most of the season AND Atl would probably need to go deep into the playoffson top of that.

Kovalchuk is a real good player but its too early still, Vinnie from Tampa is a star and I would give it to him right now but things change

Right now it's a dream let's see if he keeps this up for say another 50 games at least AND his team makes the playoffs. I don't think the Hart has ever gone to a player on a team that didn't make the post season.
Let's not forget the Richard and the Ross might also be a reality but he needs to stay healthy and keep scoring for another 50 games at least.

Kovalchuk is a one way player. Vinny all the way. Crosby is second Lundqvist or Thornton is third. Kovalchuk Might get Rocket Richard but he is a very streaky player.

He's been outstanding, but he's got some stiff competition. Now, the Rocket Richard trophy, I can see him having a shot at.

Henrik Zetterberg. Just had to bring him up because no one else seems to want to. Points in every game but 1 this year.
