I think it's enough. If you use the laptop for graphical-animations, hi-res. 3D games, video-editing, then yes, upgrade it, otherwise, I wouldn't.

Yes. It is definitely a great computer if you don't really have any idea what a good computer actually is. I only have 1gb ram and 80gb hard drive with windows vista. I hate it. I think you will be fine with your windows xp computer. do not waste the 90 to upgrade. You WILL be wasting money that you can use on things that are much more important for your spending.

"You will never even need 2 GB" HAHAHA!
remember back when we had 10 MB hard drives, and that was :more than we'd ever need"? 2 GB is okay, but I would still upgrade. $90 is a VERY fair price for 1 GB laptop RAM.
and yes, you would use 2GB. your computer probably would use up to about 12GB, if it could, but it usually just uses the hard drive as a "Virtual" RAM [thus the term 'virtual memory'] mine sometimes uses up to 12 GB, not just 2.

If you're going to use it for intense gaming and multitasking; i'd go past 3 and install 4gb <_<;;
I would say that 2gb is sufficient enough to handle the average user for multitasting and performance. Just for the usual music, email, homework, youtube / veoh people.
My classmate has an HP running on vista, previously with only 1gb until she changed it to 2gb. She says 'it runs like butta'. People are so entertaining.
ANYWAY, i think you're fine with 2gb..you could always upgrade later when prices get cheaper..in the not-so-far future.

I wouldnt say you will never need 2gb. I only have 1gb in mine and I am always going over just in basic work (browsing, spreadsheets, documents etc). (I have two screens and often multi task quite a bit). But 2gb is quite a bit for now, especially since you dont have vista. Now if you ever upgrade to vista I would recommend 3 or 4 gb.

I believe 2 GB is sufficient, most of the computer operations do not require much memory and the memory usage hardly goes more than 1 GB.
There are some memory consuming stuff like 3D games, image processing softwares etc, if you intend to use such high memory requirement software which explicitly states that much memory, you should think about it.
Else, 2 GB is sufficient.

the 2GB is all you really need if you are just doing regular stuff like surfing the net or playing mp3s or videos but if you are a gamer and do a lot of internet games and off line games I would say pay for the upgrade.

Laptop RAM performs the best with the RAM comes with pair. Don't bother with that extra 90 for 3G. That will not met the real expectation in performance (it will get a little better). If you want, get to 4G RAM or just keep them in 2G.

honestly, most regular computer users will never notice the difference between 2 and 3 gigs. unless you're a programmer, graphic designer, or someone that really "uses" their computer, 1 gig extra is just a waste of $$$. you can always upgrade later if needs be.

It Depends what you are using it for, If you are going to be storing files such as games, photos, music files, i would upgrade to 3gb, as that is a good amount of ram to have.
