Is this a ATM only card or is it a debit card with a Visa or Mastercard log? If it's an ATM only, you cannot use it anywhere but the ATM. If it's a debit card, you can use it like a credit card (but the money still comes out of your bank account immediately) and just sign for the transaction.

At an ATM you just put the card in, then it will ask for your PIN number. After that you just choose the account type and how much cash you want. Then you get the cash and a receipt.

DO NOT forget your card in the machine.

If you are using an ATM machine that doesn't belong to your bank you will get charged 2 fees, usually. One from the owner of the machine, and one from your bank. It sucks, but that's how it is.

You can only use the card to make purchases at stores if it is a DEBIT card. It should say on the card if it is or not. Most banks will allow you to get a Debit card if you have a checking account with them.

Because of your age, I am assumming it is a debit card to your savings account. This card will only be good at your bank or authorized atm machine. If you have time, after school go to your bank and ask them for help to understand how to use the card, where you can use it....and how many times per month.

since you did not say what kind of card it is i would suggest i know you do not want to talk to one of your parents and get the correct details on how and where to use it == some atm have fees and i do not want you to take out 5 dollars and end up paying a three dollar fee!!!!
