I was just thinking that yes police are getting a bit trigger happy with the tasers. After seeing that woman who got tased and hit her head on her vehicle I was sickened. I understand police have a hard job to do and are often placed in dangerous situations but come one is there anyone they won't taser?
Unfortunately it seems well hell it won't kill them so let's tase them. Oh but wait an airport security officer did manage to kill a Polish guy because he appeared to be resisting..he was Polish and didn't speak English so he got tased.
There needs to be some sort of protocol set up for when it is okay to use a taser and the usage should be subject to same process as discharging your firearm. I also think these trigger happy officers should be tased themselves to see how it feels...maybe then they won't be so quick to use that kind of "non-deadly" force on someone else who is merely pissing them off.

Hmmm.... let's think about this. Tasers, or guns. I'll go with tasers. By the way, you won't have to worry about being tasered or shot at by the police if you obey the law. Thumbs down all you want, but if you're anti-police, just make sure you don't ever call them for help when you need it.

They're still a better alternative than a bullet.
If people insist on playing with the bull, they should be prepared to pay the consequences. Police don't use their tasers on law abiding citizens who don't pose a threat, if you were to dig a little deeper, I'm sure you'd find much more to the story than what is broadcast on the news.
Are they going to ban handcuffs next because they may hurt the poor little criminals wrists??
My hat goes off to the people of law enforcement who must deal with these clowns on a daily basis.

What would you prefer being shot with a Taser or a Real gun.
By the police officer who thinks you are a threat to his/her safety.
I would take a taser, anytime. If the pepper spray is not handy
But i would rather not be in that situation

I think some police officers overuse them, for with power comes corruption. But I see no reason to bann the taser guns....just bann the police officer who is overusing them...the taser is a quick non lethal stop to any criminal...why not have them? if you take tasers away it wont stop the bad police officer who overused them, from being a bad police officer....

It's obvious the police continually ''overstep their bounds''. I see them harass kids for traffic violations, drawing their weapons and brutalizing these people. How can they justify pursuing a ''speeder'' with 10 patrol cars and a helicopter? That's about 2 million dollars worth of our taxes that they just crash and bash. Here's an idea. How about they just jot down the plate number and wait at the guy's house for his return? Is that to complicated? Say there's a group of teens partying in the woods or on their front porch, not hurting anybody. How about you just turn the other way instead of ''instigating'' these kids until you can charge them with something or ''tase'' them?

Probably. But if they don't use tasers, they may have to use 9mm pistols. Your choice. I'll do whatever you want.

I think it's a great alternative to shooting people dead but they should lower the voltage or something because it is obviously way too dangerous.
+ you never know who you are dealing with...a drug addict, heart patient, psycho on crazy meds...
It needs more testing
