I only know of one. That's the grant of immunity! I live in government assisted housing & it seems that the code inspectors just can't touch this place to make it better. The water makes my eyes sting, yet when I shower at a friends house, my eyes are just fine! Same city water, yet different heating system. America is falling behind in safety standards for the people. I think they want us to die & the problems will be solved until the next election on a local level, of course. The Feds would never abandon us, would they?

Contact your local council, a lot of them have schemes to help older people with energy efficient heating, insulation etc.
It's free up to a basic level of safety checks, then I think they do interest free loans, which can't be bad.
