Actually in UAE there is an interesting mixture of ppl
20%Local Arab(Emirati),15%Other arab(syrian,jordanian,lebanese ect),20%iranian(persian,azeri ect),5%(eastern european, african),30% Asian,10%(western europe+american)
So matter of fact they are treated well and as far as im concern ppl have equal opportunity there.
Only the asian ppl are mostly workers doing all the dirty work such as cleaning, construction worker ect.
Most persians basically come to UAE as it as more developed(Most developed country in ME) and i think u dont have the freedom of wearing revealing stuff in public in Iran so
ladies like to come to dubai which is pretty much a free and show it off all!Especially in beachs. But too bad i hear UAE facing immigration problems,u know asians, whenever they see $$$ they will rush over there like monkeys, the noodle shops in NYC would probably tell u that.
But anyways UAE is great country.

I am just wondering why you didn't say the same thing about Indians or Pakistanis for example , they are a lot more of them in UAE than Persians. . But "Persian" is not the Iranian nationality by definition , and not all Iranians are Persians. Regardless , there are also non-Persian Iranian nationals that hate Arabs , and their ratio in some of those groups is greater than you would find amongst Persians themselves. Its not really an issue of race as much as it is an issue on indoctrination. And I am not just talking about some right wing extremists, also extreme left wing Iranians hate Arabs as well. However the majority of the population does not care about these things & politics, as much as they care about making a decent living and finding a safe place to live. That is why many Iranians chose to live and work in UAE , while at the same time some Iranians who migrated to west after revolution years wanted to be close to home and live with other Iranians, so they also moved to UAE from western places. In other words the Iranian & Emirati people don't hate each other , nor does any Arabs in the gulf want US to attack Iran , that is just a myth played upon fro propaganda purposes by both Iranian and western media, and given a new life by wikileaks. Despite the politics UAE remain strong trade partners and the demographic relations exist as well.

Iranians in the UAE are generally low profile. They are not flashy and extravagant compared to other expats in the UAE - bu you will be surprised to know that a lot of Iranians are filthy rich and commands a big chunck of the UAE Business. As a proof, two big Iranians Banks, (Melli &
Saderat) are present to take care of the banking needs of the Iranians in the UAE and other Gulf Countries.
Iranians I would say are closely knit people and in fact most of the Iranian Restaurants are always full of Iranians every night merrying and taking a time out! The Iranian Club is always conducting some cultural shows and most of the time are having activities !
And to manifest further the good & deep rooted relationship of the Locals and Iranians - most of the locals speak Farsi !!! even the Police speak this language ! - Amazing indeed ~

There are Iranians in Dubai and all over the UAE. I would not say that there are a lot compared to the number of other expats, but you find a few cab drivers being Persinas and the other mostly working in small shops.
In the building where I live we have a shop which was run by Persians. They wil leave in 2 days and Indians taking over. I was always very sastisfied with them and I feel sorry for them leaving.
I know a couple of Persians and I like them. I never heard anybody having problems with Iranians and I never heard any Persians complaning about discrimination etc. Persians fit right in the UAE culture and there are no problems at all. At least not that I would know.
Take care!

yes there's a lot of iranies here and still increasing the number .. they're treated normally .. !! why should they be treated differently ??
and to prove that .. they are still coming to live in the UAE generally, and Dubai in specific =)
i have many good and amazing persian-rooted friends .. but there's good and bad people everywhere so .. they're not all nice people ..

Dubai seems to be very much a mixed society, including Persians, all of whom get along well with common, primarily business, interests. Check out the following for a brief description of their history and development, including the role of Iranians/Persians.
