Englands incompetent flops got paid £150.000 each last night for approx 2 hours work. Within that 2 hours they did not work for their manager, lost the support of the Fans and the Job of their Manager,Although he did a pretty good job of helping them.
A Nurse will work a 12 hour night shift and deal with abuse blood and death and, will receive less the £120 after tax It's time that things were changed.
How can a single person justify The wages them K nobs get over a nurse where is the justification. I think it's time that wage caps and limits were put in place, What do you think?
Your valued opinions please.

I do totally agree. As a health care worker, I have made this point to my football mad husband many times (mainly around payday). He justifies their extreme wealth by saying that a huge amount of money is made by football clubs through ticket sales and merchandise, and that the players are the visible faces, they should get a slice of the rewards. I bet the visible faces that work in the shops selling the merchandise dont get much more that minimum wage though. He says that the players keep the team high up the league (in theory), encouraging people to spend massive amounts of cash and this talent has to be rewarded. I am also very good at my job. This year Tony Blair thought my annual wage increase was to much to expect and decided to give ALL health service staff a below inflation pay rise. This means he thinks our wages are lovely and we shouldnt expect to be rewarded for helping people through the most vulnerable stages of their lives. The unions fought our corner (a bit) but we are still waiting for a pay rise of any shape this year which means we have had a paycut. They need to stop taking advantage of people like us, they know we dont do it for the money, we do it because we care about people who are sick, confused, dying, agitated, we do for people what they cant do for themselves and the fact that Gordon Brown thinks he can exploite people like us makes ME feel sick.
Can I also say about the campaign someone started to encourage footballers to give a days pay to hard up nurses? I thought this was the most patronising thing I had heard this year. I dont want to have to rely on charity, I want a decent living wage for doing a difficult yet rewarding job, and was fully behind all clubs who refused to take part (though probably not their reasons). Whoever started this wouldve been better off starting a campaign to get everyone on the govt backs about the fact that we need do get exploited.

I totally agree with you. There was a time, many years ago, where there was a wage cap, but it's been forgotten. Nurses and doctors save lives on a daily basis; while these overpaid egos kick a ball around once a week. It's not fair.

it's a question of perceived values
every time we pay to go through the turnstile, buy the sky package or whatever we subscribe to this madness
so
essential public servants are paid for by our taxes
we moan about ticket prices
we moan about taxes
there is little we can do about the taxes we pay
we can however do something about our watching the game
and yet, if there were two tickets available at St James park or the emirates to watch the toon get beat by the Arsenal, we would both be sat cheek by jowl
i think its called a free market

As an acute mental health nurse thank you xx.
I feel they should be paid a basic wage and then a bonus IF they win.
The money they earn is disgusting.
Have a star x

I think that I'm forced to agree with you.
Many would say that we watched one of the worse matches in history last night. I'm so glad that we're being governed by people that realise our true worth, nurses go to the bottom of the league table. Lets hope that Gordon Brown, needs nursing (I'm sure that there's something wrong with the man) then all the nurses can go on strike and make him empty his own bed pan.

I don't disagree with your sentiment, but you're delusional if you think you can turn basic economic reality on it's head.
Those footballers (pop stars, artists, etc) have a little talent that can be sold to lots of people, thus generating lots of money. That's why they get paid a fortune.
What nurses have are skills (although there may be talents to!!!) which can generally be taught to many people and don't, as a rule, make anyone much money.
I honestly don't aim to be derogatory or unapreciative - nurses and the security forces all do things that other people can't or wont do and they certainly don't get rewarded enough for it!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you. I'm a nurse and we get paid a pittance for putting up with violence from patients and relatives. Gordon Brown wouldn't last a day in my place of work, but i love it so that's all that matters i suppose.
They get paid far too much for kicking a ball round a field.
Thanks for your support..xx

Funny how when footballers weren't paid obscene salaries they were better players and far more successful. No footballer justifies the crazy amount of money they earn. Perhaps performance pay should be introduced?
