The exhaust system is like a brass instrument. The standing air column volume and length determine the note. The opening and closing of the valves determines octave the noise comes out at. The difference between a tuba and a trumpet is the length of the distance the sound travels and the diameter of the pipe. So changing exhaust tips is like changing the size of the bell on an instrument and not the instrument itself. There might be a slight change in the sound, but not much. It will not make your truck a mean machine. A GMC just does not have the ability to operate at the high RPM levels needed to justify or make use of a better exhaust system. So go ahead and throw money at it, but when all is said and done, it is still just a Chevy with a fancier badge on it.

The loudest exhaust you can put on a car would be open headers, followed by a straight pipe. The loudest mufflers out there are probably SLP.

my favorite is the dual straight pipes that exit under the rear bumper no mufflers at all. It sounds very tough on a v-8 and since there are no muffers it is relatively inexpensive. Instead of mufflers I opted for the three inch stainless tips. I had a good system in it and never heard the exhaust, everyone else does though

The loudest MUFFLERS that I have heard is the Flowmasters 40 series.
When you do the upgrades, be sure to install a "H" or "X" pipe. These help to balance the pulse.
I suggest that you do not run open pipes, as it is a noise ticket waiting to happen.
(IF you run past my house with such, I will call it in...)

Loudest would be open pipes of course, and since anything other than factory would be illegal, why not go all the way illegal and run open pipes?
