Isn't a better question what problem that existed in 1968 DOESN'T still exist? Sure women have closed the gap on the pay-scale and in some cases are paid equal, but not in all cases. Sure there is more racial equality, but people are still judged on race or we wouldn't have so many laws saying you can't do it. Those are just two of the major ones. For the most part we have added problems more then solved them.

Also, we are in a war that is probably unwinnable for a cause that we are not sure about.

Well for America its Russia. Although the cold war is over Russia is still a formidable foe. they are placing heavy anti-missile sites along its border in order to prevent attacks from America. The tension between the two countries is once again growing

Pay scale inequality. For doing the exact same job, with the exact same credentials, women on average still get paid less than their male counterparts.
