i have a friend who is absolutely fabulous and ginger. with matching carpets and curtains..... does it get you down?

Its not a big deal, its a characteristic, just like having black skin or long hair. If someone says "oi ginger", its like saying oi long haired person, or "oi tall bloke", its people who have no manners who refer to people in this way, as we all have characteristics. I'm ginger, and the only time I've been refered to by my hair colour was when I was a young teenager. Nobody cares. When society sees a characteristic enough, it becomes just like any other characteristic, brown skin, black skin, tall short e.t.c. Its not funny and I think someone who embraces it with matching carpets e.t.c. is a bit extreme, as hair colour should'nt be the dominant thing in your life, although I would never wear orange or yellow clothes, far too clashing.

Blondes get picked on more than gingers I think. How often do you see a ginger joke. The blonde one's are on here all the time.

You just need to take a look at the beauty trade, red heads have started a trend and everyone wants to dye their hair red, a bit of a slap in the face to all those people who are guilty of doing it but now have red hair, we are all beautiful in our own ways, doesn't matter what you look like there is always some ignorant idiot ready to have a go because they are trying to cover up there own inadequate feelings, go all red heads.
