Depends on the athlete and depends on the sport. A skinny swimmer is going to drink allot less than a big football player. Also based on necessity, a person running a marathon in 85 degree whether is going to drink allot more than an ice hockey player playing a game.
Top level athletes drink anywhere from 1.5-4 gallons a day...

Too subjective! Depends on exeration level/replacement need, size, chemical levels (such as salt), and so many more factors.
Like already mentioned, 8-10 glasses per day for average person. It is better to drink too much than not enough.

adequate to interchange what you have lost for the duration of the day. there's a pair suggestions on the thank you to circulate approximately it. a million. examine the colour of your pee. it is going to easily be quite yellow. If its darker, drink greater. 2. Weight. we could say you're on the circulate united states group. Weigh your self earlier prepare. you may desire to drink adequate for the duration of and after that your after prepare weight is the comparable. There are way too many variables for a 'person-friendly' on a regular basis selection to make any experience. interest point, ambient temperature, your sweat fee all play a factor. On a quiet day in a climate controlled college room, a liter or 2 must be greater effective than adequate. a no longer simple practise day in the warmth ought to require gallons to stay even.

Enough to cover what they use up with their training!
Most people dont drink enough, but I would guess that a few litres a day when training. Too little and cantrain to full extent, too much and they will loose minerals getting rid of the excess water.
If you are concernced about how much you drink, check the colour as it comes out again - it should be fairly pale. Dark and drinkmore, light and drink a bit less
