I recently bought a laptop. At home, we have DSL internet connection. In order for me to recieve internet would i need a wireless router? is that it? can you recommend any models of routers?

if the DSL modem isn't wireless than you need to get a wireless router. just make sure that it bears the Wi-Fi Certified logo and you shouldn't have any problems connecting it.

If your current DSL connection is direct from the Modem (and it is NOT a Modem/router) to the computer, you will need to get a router
If you already have a router or a modem router, you can plug the laptop into one of the router ports.
If you want wireless, you will need a wireless router or a wireless access point.
Get a wireless router if you don't already have a router
Get a wireless access point if you have a router and don't (or can't) replace it

If your laptop is fairly new, it should have a wireless receiver built into your laptop and if that is the case, then yes, you would need a wireless router that would send the DSL internet signal to your laptop wirelessly.
Check to see first if your DSL modem does not have a wireless antenna already; some feature a wireless modem/antenna such as Verizon.

Make sure you have a wireless adapter installed on laptop---if it doesn't then get one.Contact your ISP if the modem you have there is a router at the same time----if it is then you don't need to get a router.Just ask assistance from them for wireless set-up.If it is not a router....ask them what router they would recommend that works well with your modem.I would recommend Linksys for router....great equipment!easy to install!

does the laptop have built in wifi?
then yes you will need a wifi router
get a linksys
they are simple to set up
relaible
and the work
either that or run a cat5 patch cord to the router

IGNORANT ANSWERER'S ABOVE ME TELLING U WRONG INFO. U DONT NEED WIRELESS U CAN JUST PLUG AN ETHERNET CABLE TO UR LAPTOP FROM UR ROUTER
