When it comes to science, Al Gore is on a par with Paris Hilton.
The notion that humanity's puny attempts at keeping their butts warm can some how over come the fires of nature is absurd.
Al Gore is above natural law about as much as Paris is above municipal law.

Like him or hate him, he is raising awareness to the danger we all face.
Take party politics out of it ,the world concensus in the scientific community is that we are in trouble.
Gore's message is not new & he has been actively involved for a long time.
Yes , the earth goes through cycles of extreme weather conditions naturally.
There is solid science that backs that up as well as the solid evidence that shows how we are influencing climate change by greenhouse emissions.
All he is saying is that why help it reach the point of no return & that it is possible w/ worldwide cooperation to prevent it from happening.
Without question, Gore's , "The inconvenient Truth", is a well presented & powerful statement
There is nothing arrogant or delusional about it.

We must admire a politician for having the ability (with the help of a few paid helpers) to write a book, about a vastly important subject of current concern, aimed at the badly-informed electorate of a country he once nearly misgoverned.
Al Gore should be applauded for his recent strenuous effort to play the part of a thinker, a role both new to him, and novel to his audience.
To be fair.
The planet will survive; whether humans will survive its adaptations is a matter for debate.

He's not delusional. Al Gore seems to be glorifying global warming so that the media is more focused on him, but that doesn't mean the things he says are entirely false.
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change released their fourth report about a week ago and the probability that the climate change is solely because of natural climatic processes is less than 5%.
There are many ways that we can help our planet and combat global warming.

Al Gore and a large portion of the scientific community seem to think this. As does almost every industrialized nation (with the exception of China and the USA)
WE have demonstrated a speculator ability to destroy portions of the planet. I am not sure about you, however I wouldn't want to live in Chernobyl.
So based upon our impressive ability to destroy small parts of the planet, it isn't entirely unreasonable to think that if we all pictched it we could do some serious global damage.

Don't bash Gore to much... after all he's made himself very rich shilling the Global Warming bit... One has to give him credit for that.. In fact if one follows the money it is very interesting who and which companies stand to make *Billions* if whole governments fall for the Climate Change Scam....

Perhaps the same thing that makes others so arrogant and delusional as to think there's nothing that can be done to either destroy or save [the] planet.
Since mankind's Industrial Revolution of these past 150 years, we have been less-than-stellar stewards of this world over which we were given dominion. We have over-fished our oceans; destroyed natural habitats while we drilled for oil, explored for natural gas and mined for coal or other minerals; polluted our air and waters; destroyed the ecological necessities of rain forests and mangrove forests around the world; ignored the importance of millions of species on Earth so co-dependent on each other for our very survival; upset the delicate ecological balance between man, plants and animals; paved over rich, food-producing soils; poisoned our lands with toxic wastes, landfills, and human garbage; refused to REuse, REduce or REcycle; and pretty much squandered all of Earth's natural resources for our own petty arrogance, avarice, creature comforts and hubris.
If man can do ALL that in fifteen short decades, certainly we can invest our time and energies in trying to save this beautiful planet from certain destruction and our great-grandchildren from hideous living conditions.
Even without Al Gore, it's surely worth some kind of effort to save us all from our own squalor and selfishness. -RKO- 11/22/07
