Well depending (like Derek Jeter) if they live in a state where there is income tax it will vary. Typically once you're over a certain level of income it will go up. The lower priced players are going to pay a smaller amount of taxes. I'm assuming you are talking about players making in the 10-20 million range or so.

First lets assume 10 million. A nice round number. Federal taxes on it would be aprox 37% (I'm rounding). That would mean the player nets 6.3 million. Agents on average make $62,000/yr. See link below. However that includes all sports and even the lower priced player.

However, the usual free is anywhere from 2-5%

See this article:

Assuming a $10 million dollar salary that is likely to be a higher priced agent. We'll assume 5% here which is $500,000. Now the player is bringing home $5.8 million. Take trainer fees out, and other personal stuff like limos, etc and the player will generally end up with about half of the money he signed for.

So A-Rod is really netting himself about 13 million a year.
I hope that helps.

No part of the Public's taxes are used to pay players. People in cities would never go for that. Everything they recieve is payed for by the club, and they file taxes just like everyone else and get taxes taken away based on the ammount they are paid.

i dont compltely get ur question but if ur asking if we pay the players with our taxes, we dont. The owners pay the players with the revenue made by the team/the money they ahve on their own.

If your asking if they pay taxes, ofcourse they are jsut like every other American, except they make millions more than we do and get a whole lot more action
