From what I've heard those involved are trying to make an endrun around congress.

There has been talk about a North American Union for some time, they say the currency has already been printed.
Pay attention to the meetings between Bush, Mex Prez and Canadian Prez.
They say there was a meeting in Canada this year for that sole purpose.
I suppose it's possible but not without a fight from American and Canadian citizens.

I've heard the rumors for a Pan American Union. Glenn Beck is a douche though and only serves to turn rational people away from this issue.

Glenn beck may have thown out the idea of such since that way we wouldn't have to worry about illegals coming in from there anymore and such, but it was probably in sarcasm you need to understand glenn beck''s wry nature

This is a favorite topic for conspiracy theorists. The reality is that the three governments are looking for ways to make it easier to trade, without so much of a hassle. This fear is the basis of all the immigration fighting, and like trying to make trade go more easily, there is no good legislation forthcoming.

Why would Canada want to merge with the USA. We are a bi-lingual, free-speech,multi-cultural society. Our economy is a power house. Please don't go by a so-called news "hack". Canada would never go for this, NEVER!!! We a sovereign nation and always will be.

That would never work, as if Canadians wanted to be stuck with Americans! They are however ppl who make to have a single currency between Canada and the US, but because the US dollar is so weak...it's not in Canada's best interest.
