"we ... find ourselves orbiting an average-sized sun, which is just one of millions of stars in our own Milky Way galaxy. And our galaxy itself is just one of billions of galaxies, in a universe that is infinite and expanding."
-Stephen Hawking
"there are subtle properties of the universe that allow the delicate process of life to exist. Indeed, it appears as if the cosmos has been “fine tuned” to permit life."
"there are more stars visible to our telescopes than all the sand grains of Earth’s beaches. Shouldn’t we expect that life is a natural, frequent occurrence?"
-Seth Shostak (degree in physics from Princeton University, and a Ph.D. in astronomy from the California Institute of Technology)
These accomplished scientists along with most intellectually above average humans ackowledge there is life outside of earth on other worlds. To think otherwise is ignorant, egotistical, and niave.
Whether life on another world is more sophisticated than our current technology can certainly be debatable, largely because no one can either prove or disprove their belief.
Are we the most advanced lifeforms in the universe? Ask yourself this ... if we are on one planet in minimally an eight or nine planet solar system and one solar system in millions of solar systems in our Milky Way Galaxy and in one galaxy in minimally billions of galaxies in our universe, then how arrogant would we have to be to think we are more advanced technologically than all lifeforms in the universe.
The answer is pretty damn arrogant.
Of course there is life out there and certainly there is life out there that has had more time to evolve than we have.

Life on an extrasolar planet is most likely to consist only of the local equivalent of bacteria. For most of Earth's history, bacteria was the only life on Earth. At present the gigantic majority of individual living beings on Earth are bacteria.
Even if the planet has more advanced life, the chances are that the smartest things there would be the local equivalents of trees, fish, cows or dogs. Until recently in geological time scales, no life on Earth was any smarter. Most multicellular life on Earth outside the oceans is no more advanced than insects or plants, which are pretty advanced if you think about it.
In the unlikely case where there are intelligent beings, the chances are that their technology will be more primitive than on Earth, since for most of human history, technology has been more primitive than it is today. For the best part of a million years, humans had not even invented farming or writing, these have only been around about 5 thousand years.

Do I 'believe' in it? no.
Do I 'believe' that it could exist? yes. Except by using religious arguments (as Thomas Paine did over a century ago), it is impossible to prove that other civilizations cannot exist.
We do not know how long a civilization needs to develop a given level of thechnology (we only have a 'sample' of one: our own).
Therefore, by applying the appropriate statistical analysis theorem, the only conclusion we can draw is: if there are other civilizations out there, then, for one taken at random, there is a 50% chance that they are in advance on us, and a 50% chance that they are behind us.
Vague enough for you?
-----
The question is more often asked about civilizations that we could contact: given that we detect another civilization out there, what is the probability that it is ahead of us? The probability is often given as higher than 50% using some arguments like this:
- the signal we detect today left a long time ago, at which point the probability was 50% (when they sent the signal, they were like we are today); therefore it higher than 50% that they are now ahead of us.
- If we detect the signal (especially from a long distance and despite the background noise), then they are sufficiently advanced to make their signal difficult to miss.

There are living beings ( as small as microbe and as large as elephant). Some living beings could be seen with naked eye. Others can only be seen clearly or unclearly with powerful microscopes.
Whether it is 1756 or 1800 or 1996 or 2007 or 2009 year, QURAN, the last testament by GOD says: GOD created HEAVENS and the EARTH and PUT lifes in between them.
Scholars have interpreted that: It means there are NUMEROUS kinds, sizes, forms of LIVING BEINGS that exist in the earth, above the earth, in the skies, in the heavens, in the universe, etc. etc.
Not even this, QURAN in chapter36 says: there are lifes whose genders who don't even know!... and these are clear signs of GOD.
Now, certain living beings i.e. plants and animals, HAVE BEEN FOUND TO BE "UNISEXUAL, BISEXUAL (plant's flower), etc. etc." through powerful technology. Also, there are living beings where MALE GENDER lays eggs! it has been discovered by modern science.
Science has not reached that advance where LIFE IN OTHER WORLD could be seen or met or proved. But it will, I pray, and i hope, by Grace of GOD.

Even i think about it sometimes... I guess yes, there must be life on some far distant planet out of the reach of living beings on any planet as according to wat i think.... It must be nature, which may not allow life on one planet to disturb life on another planet.... I guess thats y these planets r millions of light years away... I hope u understood my puzzling thoughts... lol..!!
