well..here it goes..
-i am 18..happily married for 2 yrs.
-my hubby is 27..( i know..it is weird but don't laugh @ me!)
-i came from india last yr and my hubby grew up in america
-we have a few cultural differences...and he is a doctor( stilla resident so he just make $3000 a month plus med school debt) and has friends who r very materialistic and always talk about bars, wines, high class restaurants, fashion and jewelry ...so i don't like to hang out with them. but he does and i don't mind.
-i go to college a local community college and i have no car (again financial problems)

now my question is how do i make new friends? All my frinds are in India and i was so busy last yr being newly married and helping my inlaws..and studying that i did not socialize even a little bit...and i am a bit shy too..
How do i make friends? i can't go out a lot becoz i don't have a car only my hubby does

will people get scared and not talk to me as i am married at an early age? coz i am still learning

I feel im alot like you though im close to your husband in age not married im a dr too well becoming one and i feel the same with my partners friends most of them are so materialistic so into themselves i wonder what did my partner become friends with them i try to be friends they are more into my friends who are single keep asking me to introduce them so it becomes a hassle.
Do your husbands friends have any wives who are not at all fake materialistic into themselves?Normal wives like you?If not maybe i can introduce you to some dr wives like you who are my friends maybe you can be friends just email me.
Dont feel lonely trust me ive been there just have to have some good real friends in a new country.

Join some clubs, get out and experience life. Being a wife is important but it shouldn't be the only reason you survive. I have noticed its harder to make friends when you are older, most of my friends I've had since I was small and when I got married and moved to another state I still haven't made any friends and its been over 3 months here. I've tried, but the people are different and I spend most of my time with my husband, so I know how you feel. I think you will make some just don't be shy and be friendly, they will come around. I'm still waiting also :/

Americans tend to shy away from people who appear "different". Do you wear the traditional dress of India? Also, if your english isn`t that good some people will feel funny trying to converse with you. I wish you luck in finding friends, but most of my close friends were made at school so you`re in a social mecca.
