Search the websites, and buy Networking for Dummies. It may seem stupid, but it has some of the most detailed information I have ever seen in one place, including a really good section on netmasks. There are things in there that are missing from some of the most technical books. We would take a month to write enough to be useful, but would probably only confuse you.

Of course you're working at Circuit city in the PC department.

I'm surprised that they hired someone smart enough to think to ask questions about the job, though. Not like them.

read a book on networking - what on earth are you asking for? A CCNA/CCIE or Network + rep to teach you everything? You shouldn't have lied on your job application.
