homosexuals and serial killers?

ok so im watching something on TV about serial killers of which only one can be defined as a homosexual serial killer - Dahlmer .... yes gacy raped and killed men and boys but he also married twice and fatherd two children which would indicate he was bisexual.

The majority of serial killers admit to being abused - 72% suffered physical abuse 42% pshycological abuse and 43% sexual abuse.

my question is, does anyone know of any other homosexual serial killer. And also should be be worried that with abuse rates of children (sexually physically and emotionally) growing exponentially, should we be concerned that more serial killers will surface in the future and if so how can we prevent the abused children of today become serial killers of tomorrow?

yes i do know of that statistic i also know that 86% of pedofiles admitted they are attracted to young boys because of thier feminine looking bodies and NOT because of thier sex.

of course not lol no i am simply asking what if any other well known serial killers were gay, and also if there is a link between child sexual assault and future serial killers should we be seeking more help for those children?

once someone said to me homosexuals were more likely to become serial killers i of course KNOW this isnt true but it is nice to work out some statistics, say 99% of serial killers are heterosexual regardless of the sex of thier victims.
ive googled it but can only find gacy who was bi and dahlmer. but there has to be another one or two well known

ok basically gilles de rais was not homosexual yes many of his victims WERE male but he also had female victims, there is also no mention of his sexuality and as he tortured and mutilated both male and female victims it is much more likely he was infact hetrosexual (ref to a previous answer most child sexual assault perpetrators define them selves as hetrosexual despite playing on young males)

also it is worth noting that as the church was involved in his capture and trial it is possible he was labelled as a homosexual for religious reasons and not because he actually was, so for the moment we will leave him as a 'possible 4th serial killer'

nilson on the other hand because of the locations where he met his victims(gay bars) the fact he was never married, and lived alone and has appealed for HMS prision should provide him with homosexual pornography we can say that he is or is highly likely to be homosexual.

There's a guy from the UK named Dennis Nilsen, who was a nasty piece of work. See his book, listed at Amazon:it's a really good read btw, written by an expert upon such Psychopaths. He's also written upon Jeffrey Dahmer.

Nilsen chopped up his victims, and left many of them around his home.

As a Psychologist, I'm not overly concerned about gay serial killers, as they seem a rare beast. Ref. child physical abuse etc: this must be a concern for all of our society, but there's no major correlation between child harm and them becoming serial killers. As widely known, the disproportionately high perpetrators are straight and not gay. Mental abuse is also highly damaging to people, including children, and often overlooked, so I'd recommend that you don't get too fixated just on physical abuse.

Hope these thoughts help. And I really do recommend the book, it's extremely well written and gripping - though not for the easily disturbed amongst us.

That statistic is wrong, the only way to get such a statistic is to ask people if they are homosexual (or spy on them individually, LOL) and even though society is more accepting it is still not absolutely accepting so not all homosexuals will reveal their sexuality. This would be assuming you had the statistic from a reliable source and not just some bull like 11 serial killers were caught in one month and 5 were homosexual.....

Why exactly have you mentioned both homosexual serial killers and the idea that abused children can become affectionless psychopaths? I hope you aren't trying to make a correlation between being homosexual and being abused. If anything the fact that there are few serial killers that are homosexual but many that experienced abuse disproves that idea.

In case I'm way off, no, I can't think of any more thank God. =/

EDIT: Several studies shows a link between childhood abuse, deprivation or privation and subsequent emotional issues such as affectionless psychopathy, which can lead to homicidal tendencies. There are very few instances however where this occurs to the point of a serial killer being created. There are roughly 9 serial killers active in the US today. Very few compared to the number of emotionally disturbed adults who suffered childhood abuse.

If you have sex with a member of the same sex, you are homosexual. Bisexuals are still homosexual. With only 2% of the population identifying as homosexual and 43% of serial killers having been homosexual, it is safe to say we should be looking into homosexuality as a trait for serial killers.
