There is by definition no such thing as "converting from Christianity to atheism." That would infer that atheism is an organized institution and it is not.

Historically, there have been very few atheists. Atheism means an absence of belief in a god or some kind of spiritual being. Throughout history, almost all people have believed that there is some kind of spiritual being or beings existing beyond or beside our physical existence. It has not been difficult to convert a person from one religious belief to another, because they have that basic belief in a spiritual reality. Another religion might alter their previous perceptions and cause them to see those concepts in a new way.
I think that true atheism is a more modern concept, based on our increasing scientific understanding of nature.

Everyone is born an atheist, you have to be indoctrinated into a cult to be brainwashed into believing in fairy tale beings. So, christians have 'converted' more atheists, beside atheists don't convert anyone, people mature and seek out intelligent answers thus becoming atheists.

Over the course of time, more non-Christians have become Christians than Christians have left for other faiths. Christianity is the largest religion in the world, and you don't get that way by losing more followers than you gain.

Historically speaking, Christians have converted atheist more than any other religion. And it is based on the facts, that the bible has historical accuracy, archelogical findings, written records, ect....
The thing about most atheist, is that although they are very intelligent, they lack wisdom, the two are totally different one from the other, as alot of people have "head knowledge" but when it comes to spiritual matters they lack sufficient wisdom, and so they account it to "I don't believe" theory, well, atheist say they don't believe and that in it self is an oxymoron, because to say that I don't believe that there is a God, is a believe in itself. so they contradict themselves. However, those that still stand fast in their disbelief, find themselves usually "empty" inside, there is more to christianity than mere religion, and it has flourished because it has been attacked, not because it has been accepted, the more that christians come under persecution, the more our beliefs come to 'light', and it proves, that what the Master suffered, so we his followers will suffer the same, still, under all of this persecution, we thrive, and in the midst of it all, we continue to love those who are doing the persecution. and it is that love that keeps attracting the unbelievers to Christ.

I would be shocked if atheists turned routinely to Christianity!
For me, I went the other way - and would again!
