I have three teenage grand daughters, and last year bought the middle one a digital radio. She is 15 and has recently discovered BBC Radio 7 and Tony Hancock. She is completely hooked, just as I was at her age, and now her sisters are listening too.

Does anyone else have younger family members with unlikely enthusiasms ?

Heather, the old films are on TV quite a lot, there can't be many children who haven't seen them. However, until recently, they did not have access to old radio shows.

Here in Canada in the 60's we used to watch Tony Hancock. Here's a link for those not familiar with him . He was hilarious.
My grandaughter enjoys a lot of country music that I listen to but would not admit it to anyone.
When I was a kid my dad who was born in Bolton ,Eng. used to talk about George Formby and I became a fan when he appeared in old English movies.
They also used to talk about Gracie Fields and my Gramma used to go around singing at the top of her lungs "Walter , take me to the alter" LOL.

My 2 love the old radio shows too, they have now downloaded to mp3, The Navy Lark, Jimmy Clitheroe, and some of the Man in Black stories.

Have no idea who you are referring to. I'm still waiting for Jonathan Winters to contact me from the spirit world of the boat people! It appears that we both left out hearts in San Francisco! On Pier 39...long long ago.
