My grandaughter is 15 years old, and went to put the
garbage out, for her mother, only to be harrassed and
when she did'nt respond to that, she was beaten up by
two girls and their brother, then he also struck her mother
many blows to the head, and the sister went inside and
came out with a knife, after all this! went down, should
this just go away, is this allowed in society or is a case
to be prosecuted to the FULL extent of the law? How will
you approach this, it is violence! does anyone have a penalty
for this, or do they have the right to attack neighbours, who
don't know them. I thought that using or attempting to use a
weapon is a violation of any rights, or do they have the right
to beat up people who mind their own business, because
they have enough sense to know the consequences of
their own actions, is this only for some and not others?
Somehow they're on the street hoping to repeat this!
Where's juvenile justice then! since they are children.

If they filed a police report, and know who the attackers were, the district attorney's office will press charges against the attackers. During their arraignment, the judge will issue restraining orders to keep them away from the victims.

If nothing comes of it, the victims can file their own civil restraining orders.

The police should be called or go to the police station put in a complaint and take it to court. NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO HARASS OR STRIKE YOU. Every time that these individuals verbally harass, threaten or physically threaten your granddaughter and her mother, call the police immediately! And when it goes to court do not let it go. (In some towns they ask if you would like to settle this out of court). These people should have been arrested and taken to court. The police should have taken pictures of the injuries also to be presented in court. This was a vicious violent attack. Just because they are children it doesn't and should not go unpunished. Please look into this and do not let it go. If you say NOTHING, NOTHING will get done. I hope and pray that your family can resolve this and move forward. Hope this helps and good luck.

Contact the police. Even though they are children they do not have the right to beat up your granddaughter and definitely not hit the Mother in the head. Yes that is violence and it should not be tolerated. Get the police involved lay charges against them. It is not right. Something should be done so that they know that there are consequences when they do things like that. It just won't go away.

You are describing assault and battery. Did the mother of the girl file a police report?

Legally, nothing can be done without filing a police report. The attack and any injuries should be documented. Hospital reports, dental bills, and other injury/expense incurred should be documented. The girl and her mother should consider hiring a lawyer to help their case and to guide them through the legal system.
