Noise-Canceling Headphones?

Question

I want some noise-canceling headphones...perferably some good ones that work well and won't break for under 40 dollars.
Any suggestions? If you guys have some could you share your opinions on them...thanks.

As an electronics tech for 53 years I can tell you for sure that the old saying, "You get what you pay for" is especially true of electronics gear in general and audio gear in particular. That said, a lot of people pay huge prices for electronics gear with features they never use, an absolute waste of hard earned money. Look up the specs on the various models out there, read any and all test reports you can find (Consumers Reports has very good ones) and then decide what's best in the price range you can live with.
