The Yankees vs Angels isn't a rivalry but the Angels are probably the Yankees' third hated opponents, behind Red Sox and Mets. The Angels are the only team in the MLB to have a franchise winning record over the Yankees.

No, the Angels are an expansion team, and not old enough to have a deep seeded rivalry, like the old teams have. The Yankees and Red Sox have the longest rivalry in sports, but the most intense was the rivalry between the NY Giants and Brooklyn Dodgers, unfortunately that ended when both teams moved to California, but when they played in NYC, there have been instances when those fans literally murdered one another, that's how nuts they were.

The Red Sox and Angels have more of a rivalry than the Yankees and the Angels, and even THAT rivalry is weak.

in order for it to be a rivalry the yankees have to beat them once in a while. the angels have feasted on them even when the yankees had their best team.

It is hard for any other team to fill the role of rival to the Yankees than the Red Sox. From the long history of players going from the Sox to the Yankees (Babe Ruth, notably), to the close proximity of the home town fan base...

No cause they haven't had that many "big" games against each other. Plus they still have that Red Sox-Yankee Rivalry.
