certainly football can be beautiful-with the lack of too much fouling-but when it comes to sportsmanship I would say Rugby wins

me becouse the players show respect to the ref, get a decent wage, no riots, respect is shown all the way through. the players are better role models, and you can work out any thrushtrations you have on the pitch and leave them behind their

Got to be rugby for me.
Scotland has their local clubs (mine is Melrose) and even as international players some of them go round different schools in the Borders every week and help out the schoolkids. They do not put on any airs and graces and are just normal lads !
Well some are lol, Doddie is a wee bit mad !
The kids love him !!

The result of certain diminishing crowds to foot ball matches is a good indication and as sure as you can be that will start to happen, fans are realising now, just how much they are getting for their hard earned cash, paid to get in to a match.
Every time I watch rugby, I see a team playing Together, each knowing that it is a effort,no, namby pamby antics,as we see many times on the field of to days professional football

rugby is the better sport,,purely 'cos the fans are better...
when is the last time you heard of any trouble at a rugby match......
yes I'm gutted as England couldn't be bothered to qualify,,,,
yet the England rugby team have recently WON THE WORLD CUP
see the difference....
better manager,,and a real believe from the players....

Not me. Football is far more pleasing on the eye than rugby.
Watch the Brazil team of 1970 - they don't call it The Beautiful Game for nothing.
lol the worst football teams to watch, teams who hoof the ball in the air all the time, look exactly like rugby teams, who hoof the ball in the air all the time!
Enough said lol
edit
Sportsmanship you say?

Rugby for me Plato.
Only because I was brought up in a house of intense Rugby fans and football didn't get a look in.That's why I don't know anything about footy.
And what that other person just said too.....Rugby players are real men!

Tiggertoo, don't confuse American Football players with Soccer players who cry like little fairies when someone gives them a friendly tap.

Rugby players don't spend 10 minutes rolling around on the ground in agony after tripping over their own bootlaces. They also respect the refs more and don't try as much to influence his decisions.
