While the words do not find a place in dictionaries, the usage does make sense because "cousin" does not denote the gender.
Instead of trying to fault or deride the Indians
one should admire their sense of precision even
in word play.Don't be surprised if the Random
House "Webster" guys decide to find a place for these words in their dictionaries.
I am pretty sure you would have initially laughed at people using the word "Ginormous"
which now appears in all the latest editions of
Webster. So,be proud of the Indian who coined
the words "Cousinbrother and cousinsister".Yet another apparently funny word is co-brother
which denotes one's wife's sister's husband.The
beauty of the English language is that it makes no bones about accepting words from other
languages of the world if these find universal
acceptance however ludicrous they may seem or sound.Yet another nice word I came across
is "Husband-in-law" used to denote the relationship between an ex-husband and the current husband of a woman. How does that grab you?

Many languages have separate words for male and female cousins. These words my be incorrect in your mind but the are descriptive and absolutely correct for the user.

they are used to it,they know (some people are confused) that the words are not correct but when they call cousin, they might be feeling that something is missing or incomplete, they just want to specify that cousin is either girl or a boy i.e instead of speaking cousin they specify she/he is my cousin sister/brother ,which is incorrect.

cousin: used as an adjective not as a noun.
why not use the word sibling in place of a brother or a sister?

Does it matter?Even though it is incorrect, its actually easier to convey and understand the context of any related dialogue.

It has become a practise with Indians.
Perhaps they insist upon brotherhood and sisterhood
just to differentiate cousins of different sex who can marry each other.

correctness is in the eye of the beholder; our language as it is now wasn't always; look at all the slang today ; wasn't back when etc etc
