Believe it or not, the NRA is not the team you want on your side if you believe in the individual right to own firearms. The NRA compromises way too much. They supported the National Firearms Act of 1934 which made it difficult to own short barreled shotguns/rifles, machine guns and silencers. It was the beginning of real gun control in the USA.

If you own any NFA weapons or 50 caliber rifles, the NRA is NOT on your side. The NRA sucks.

Ron Paul supports the Constitution as i do , and by the way i served 8 years in the military for my country to protect it from people who want to destroy it, and I'm not a gun nut, but many Americans are plain nuts

I understand Ron Paul to be strong take a strong constructionist position. As such he would support the right to bear arms as stated in the second amendment. He doesn't need to be a member of or in any way sponsored by the NRA to advocate that position.

Probably the Ron Paul supporters understand that he would support the second amendment as it pertains to 'the people" as individuals, rather then 'the people" being understood as government, state or local.
