For that matter for my plum, almond and cherry trees too.... I bought them and planted them in august, they are already 2 years old.... have they gone through their slowest growth already? Does it pick up now in growth.... b/c mine look thin and I am told they are supposed to start giving fruit at 3 years of age... which would mean next year, but they just don't look strong enough... they are all between 6 and 9 feet tall. thanks.

There is no "magic trick" to make stuff grow fast other than good soil, ample water and a bit of lime from time to time, otherwise commercial growers would use it and the above methods I suggested is what they do.

Prune back the lesser limbs to form a upside down umbelrlla effect . Branches needs to grow upwards, not down too.

Trees grow at their own pace. One cannot make them grow faster or slower. One can however, make sure the branches are healthy, prune away all the extra growth so that the remaining branches are spaced properly for picking fruit. Make sure the trees are properly fertilized.
