There are two ways that you can look at this question. You can look at the bad side that people are being killed, or you can look at the good side of things.
If we hadn't gone into World War II, Hitler might have taken over the whole world!! But we went there and stopped him in his tracks. If we hadn't had the revolutionary war, we would all have British accents right now if you know what I'm saying.
One of the only objections I have of the Iraq war in particular is that we don't even know if it was Saddam Hussein who sent those planes! We don't even know if they came from Iraq! And yet we are still in Iraq killing people. Not to sound corny, but I wish that there was some way that we could work out problems with words instead of actions.
This isn't even about Saddam Hussein anymore!! It seems like it is all about getting oil. If it will end this war, let's find an alternative power source! If we put our mind to it it shouldn't take too long with all of the benefits in mind! It would be a money saving, war ending science breakthrough!

Absolute disaster. It will take generations for the Middle East to recover and the USA will not dare to repeat this sort of thing I think that many "politicians" are getting very rich from this war which was the intent the whole time. This is what happens when the top politicians have strong financial ties to big oil companies. I do watch the news but am disgusted by the lying and manipulation that goes on in an attempt to "sell" the war to the American people.i believe that we could have prevented this whole mess with better intelligence reports, or better yet, not use violence. We shouldn't go bargin into some foreign country with rifles and kill people as we also get killed. We need resolutions to problems that we are in. Its always war war war. Boo!
The Iraq war is a complete waste of time for the U.S. I thought the objective was to catch Bin Laden and the terrorists after 9/11. Apparently not. Bin Laden still resides in Afghanistan or Pakistan, but certainly not in Iraq.
Bin Laden still runs free while we are left holding the bag to pay for nation rebuilding out of our own pockets. While a noble thing, it's not the objective. If we were all about creating democracy, we'd have invaded North Korea in the 50 years or so that it's been the most horrific dictatorship in the free world. It was about protecting oil and going after Daddy's nemesis.
Meanwhile, our poor troops patrol Iraq while lunatics take potshots at them, many on their 3RD tour of duty, ridiculous. No, these aren't "insurgents", these are Iraqi's who don't want us there, and will never give in since they have lost power and are a minority. Would you give up your guns if you knew you would be killed and/or put down into the dregs of society? We are trying to "fix" a country that has thousands of years of issues that we cannot possibly be successful in curing.
Even Bush's daddy knew Iraq should not have been occupied. Read it for yourself, like Karnac, Bush Sr. predicted what would happen if we invaded. Jr. fell into the trap. http://www.informationclearinghouse.info...
This is the time article extracted from Bush/Scowcroft book.
So there you have it, a useless war so far from the objective of catching the terrorists it might as well be in the wrong country, uh, oh yeah, it is. I wonder how the families of the victims of 9/11 like Dubya?
"The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him." - GW Bush, 9/13/01
Real important. Yeah, ok.

I have always supported our invasion of Afghanistan; we were justified to pursue the terrorists responsible for the Sept. 11 attacks. However, using this terrible tragedy as an excuse for invading a country (that had no connection to it) was dishonest and improper. Perhaps most importantly, it has diverted resources away from our primary mission in Afghanistan. It is probably the worst foreign policy blunder in the history of the U.S. Presidency. By interjecting ourselves into Iraq's civil war, we have de-stabilized the Middle East, created new energy for the terrorist agenda, escalated world energy prices, facilitated the unnecessary deaths of thousands of Iraqis and Americans, and isolated the United States diplomatically. We have also weakened our country, economically, and put ourselves in a quagmire that has no foreseeable solution; we may as well just pour money, time, and human lives down the drain. With family members in the military, I do support our troops. I strongly appreciate their commitment to their country and whatever mission they are assigned. However, it is unfair to place their lives in jeopardy under the PRETENSE of national security.

The onformation provided at the begining of the war it was hard to disagree. However since our country is going to **** fast and the focus is on another country then yes. Would you feed your nieghbor before your kids. Our gov does. I am unhappy that we are taking a hiot in this country for what. I just never get a straight answer on what we are doing over there. I hate the fact that we cannot take care of our troops either. The have the worst medical care and get paid nothing. Its a shame. I love the troops I just wish I beleived in the fight because i dont

I think everyone in the world should be able to pick their government so i agree with it for many reasons. 1. everyone should be able to vote for their government. 2. Any government that believe or support people that want anyone dead that not of their religion and will even kill people of their religion because they will not help kill the others needs to be stoped. If the war stops their before their government can handle things. yes i hope that's soon we can leave their because their government can handle it on their Owen. My question to people that are again it is. Why don't you want the people their to be free and able to vote for their government. Why do you want to turn over their oil so the bad guys that will take that country over can use that money to kill people all over the world. Mybe you think if you let them kill people all over the world it will help with controling population.

Huh? The USA (if that's the war you mean) entered Iraq based upon faulty information. I support the war and our brave troops. Isn't it better to have suicide bombers in the middle east rather than Chicago or St. Louis ? Or your town ?

Is it actually a war? Was a declaration of war actually delivered to the relevant embassies? Was it an illegal invasion of an independant nation state?

I opposed it from the beginning, I think it's horrible what they are doing to each other and to all the innocent people, but I do wish for all those soldiers to come back healthy for the sake of their families.

depending on your views/morals if you do not mind in a way "protecting" us from terrorist threats then yeah you would agree. I have to say i would agree with the war but we need to have less troops in there... that and we need to stop spending so much money...

I didn't agree with it from the start. Now that it's been going on so long is proof that it was useless to begin in the first place. The government has another agenda and it's not the one they are broadcasting on T.V.
