The Secret Life of Bees was an excellent, bittersweet book.

It was wonderfully written, and was a very interesting story.
Everything was intertwined within the novel.
I loved Sue Monk Kidd's way of writing in Lily's thoughts during the novel. It brought me closer to the characters.
Not once in this book was I bored.
It brought me smiles, and tears.
Tears not only because of the content...When I finished it I cried because it was over.

It was truthfully hard to put down.

A great story of how women help each other and reach out to find other women who need support and love. Also, the book was about racism, and the writer did a great job there as well.
