It is recommended that you fully charge the battery until the green light comes on. Then unplug and use your laptop until the battery is fully discharged. Do this 5 times and you will get the best performance from your battery.

I'm not going into depth into subject just charge the battery up to 12 hours before using the laptop on mobile meaning the power cord is unplug , just continue using the laptop on ac power until the battery is fully charge, no need to return it

Its best to charge any new batteries fully when you get them, but its not a huge problem with a laptop, just plug it in overnight and it'l be fine.
