I need to start saving for college and all this other gewd stuff, not to mention i'm stuck at home all day and just FEEL like i need to do something. I'm overseas, in a very- i guess hard place to get jobs. I've been researching typist jobs from home on the internet, but from the research i've done most people say they are scams. My parents have already tried the online survey thing and didn't like it, so I highly doubt they would let me do it. Typing range is from 80-108, which is why I think a typing/secretary sort of job would be best, but I can't find any legit ones. Any ideas?

Remember, I CANNOT go out and get a good in person job. Because I live offbase, cannot drive, and most of the people on base, including spouses, have extremely hard times getting jobs. Is it just a lost cause or what?

There are many scams on the internet, beware. Try getting a job of some sort, I know it's hard I'm out of work also but once you get a job save what you can in a bank which offers compound interest, compound interest will help you out in the long run.. the more money you make the more compound interest you get, it's a snowball effect. There's only one online deal I use which generates free cash, you can read about it in the source link, it doesn't give much but it helps.
read more about compound interest and investing, a job will get you further than online typist scams or surveys.
A court would probably love you, or someone who needs a transcribist

Given it may sound sexist and dated...if you're good with kids, try baby sitting.
If you're in an area where a single female is reasonably safe, and you don't mind bending "gender roles," try yardwork for those in the neighbourhood.
Since you're overseas, you'll have to make some contact with the local authorities to see how they feel about teens working.
In any case, good luck!
PS: You can try contacting various publications...including Stars and Stripes...and see if the might like to pay you to write a monthly column on anything from life as an army brat, to current events on/off base of particular interest to teens...or even as a correspondent, a "Jane on the Ground" if you would... However, this would require some skill writing, and/or journalism experience.

Nothing is a lost cause, but you have a tough job ahead of you.
First, analyze your own talents. Do you have any skills or talents that make you unique? If you speak both English and the language of the area you are in, you might find a job teaching English to local people.
Also consider unpaid volunteer jobs for awhile. These often turn into paying jobs if you're good at what you do.
Good luck.

no lost cause, just keep looking! and yes those type things are generally scams but, find a few, and then come back to yahoo questions and ask if anyone has done "this" or "that" particular one to see whether or not they had a good experience. There has to be legitimate companies out there doing 'at home' work.

Talk to the people on base. Talk to the military. Talk to each contractors.
Your typing skill are good. Make sure you emphasize your computer skills as well.
