Damn, can Tony Parker get some love? He was the MVP of the Finals last year. He has stepped his game up a notch each year and he is almost impossible to guard. I'm not saying that he is the ultimate PG but I would put him in the top 4 along with Steve Nash, Chauncey Billups and/or Jason Kidd.

Chauncey Billups. He's the best offensive and defensive player for the Pistons who have been the best franchise in the NBA since he joined.

If you look at the definition of a point guard and what his specific job is: "run the team" then the best PG in the league today is Steve Nash. Yeah he's not a great defender, and won't give anyone a facial anytime soon, but he is the best at what he does. He distributes the ball very well and shoots whenever he has a chance, he's not your arenas or AI who actively look to score and pass second.

Jason Kidd is still the best overall point guard in the NBA, and Chris Paul will be the next best overall PG.

It's obviously Nash because he could still win with a team of 3rd grade cripples. Chris Paul is actually getting close to Steve with his consistency but Steve is still the (Canadian) MAN.
Honorable Mention: Devin Harris has to be one of the most underrated PGs in the league. He is a captain for one of the best teams in the West with lightning quick speed. He runs their offense very well.

i've got no best but i like tony parker, steve nash and allen iverson.
Tony parker because he's good, took SA to the finals and won, play good assist too.
Steve Nash has great passing ability but this guy is lucky because he's got 2 great explosive players in his team Amare and Shawn, if he's in somewhere like Lakers, probably won't be such of a superstar.
Allen Iverson, won't say he's a good point guard but he's fast thats why i like him.
