Torii Hunter is gone.
Santana might be traded rather than having to play the 08 season.

As for other MInnesota Sports, Kevin Garnett's havin' a blast with Boston, and Minnesota Vikings are just going down the drain... oh wait, this is baseball...

And one of the richest owner in the game wont spend not even a small amount of money to resign anyone... why us!?

I am sorry, but this team, and all minnesota teams ARE going down the drain, the only thing is this, which will NEVER happen:

Vikings trade for brett favre

Twins trade for Prince Fielder since he can already hit inside the parkers their

Minnesota trades for Kobe Bryant

NOT GONNA HAPPEN

i feel bad for you guys!

If Torii Hunter performed like Vernon Wells did in his first year after the big contract, you may be thanking them for not biting.

Attendance ranked 9th out of 14th in the AL.
More attendance = More revenue.
More Revenue = more incentive to keep that revenue going
more incentive equates to more quality players being retained (or signed)

So, if you want them to sign big name free agents, go buy season tickets and get another 10,000 people to do the same.

Owners are rich because they know when to spend and when not to.

For all their other idiosyncrasies, at least Yankee fans are OK with paying the piper so the team signs those big names.

For me, I would rather a .500 Jays teams with affordable prices than a championship teams that costs me through the nose. (Entertainment over success & cost for my personal preferences which is why I never complain about who they sign and don't sign)

In this day and age, if you want success, you, as a fan, have to be the wallet, not a billionaire owner. They won't be losing money

Honestly I don't know what could cheer you up. As a fan of a similar franchise (Reds) I know what its like to see players leave because the team won't pony up the money.

One thing that could cheer you up is seeing that Hunter isn't worth the money that it would have taken to resign him. Sure its great to keep a life long player with the team but its horrible to know that you have a 18 million dollar player that is playing like a 9 million dollar guy or worse is hurt all the time that is preventing you from keeping other guys like Mauer or Morneau.

The thing that could make you happy again is knowing that the Twins are one of if not the best ran smaller market team, sure their owner is a jerk, but Ryan in his time worked around that. You might have lost Hunter but you probably have two or three guys just waiting for a chance to replace him as well.

Honestly I think losing Ryan was a far far greater loss then losing Hunter.

Odds that the Twins trade Santana for anything other than a Superstar prior to the start of the season are slim. With a new stadium having been approved, they cannot get rid of all of the guys that they used to promote it. The will need Mauer, Morneau, Cuddyer, Santana, Liriano, and Nathan on their roster the day that opens or there will be ticked fans that won't fill the stadium.

However, I think the Twins should get another OF. And move Mauer to 3rd the next couple of years so he doesn't get leg problems. Move Punto to 2nd, gotta keep the piranhas.

well, try to think on the bright side. i'm not a twins fan but we're from the same division here; and as a sox fan i have some experience with an owner that makes some odd decisions too. (ya can't forget about the bears either haha, we got grossman ya know! i know how you feel about that.) so basically, just stay loyal & go with the flow, things might turn out better.

I don't think Santana will be traded until at least the stadium is finished. They need tickets to sell. But if the Yankees are offering Hughes and other top prospects. I'd be happy with that.

Continue to show your team support and have some faith - those players are asking for a lot of money and it might be better for the club in the long run to not overspend and invest in young talent instead.

I know, I know. I feel your pain. I am from Minnesota too. After I found out that Torrie is gone, I felt like crying. I just thank God that the wild are still a decent team.
