Isn't that kind of like asking if air is so thin, how can it move anything?

What you meant to ask is if a ghost is not as dense as the object to which it acts upon, how can it move it?

Think of the analogy this way: earth density is like a Rolling Stones concer (tells you how old I am) and ghost density is a single person at a Rolling Stone's concert. It is possible for a ghost to 'move' through the dense crowd without coming into much contact because a single smaller density ratio can pass through heavier denser ratios, or more precisely, pass through the 'holes' in that density.

But no matter how 'thin' you slice the cheese, it is still cheese. Ghosts are still made of 'stuff', but very thin stuff, which means very very VERY hard to see (try drawing a triangle one molecule wide and you'll see what I mean.) But because it is still 'stuff', it can still react and interact with the physical world, like wind blowing over water. No, the force of the wind doesn't penetrate very deep into the wave, but it is still interacting with the water, on the surface.

Most ghosts, if you read the various accounts, can only interact with the physical world in a very limited way and duration. The ghost picking up a teacup has a similar correlation to you trying to pick up, approximately, 300lbs and carrying it across the room. Average person, can't do it; ghosts are the same way. But some ghosts, because of the duration and intensity of their circumstances, can 'absorb' surrounding energy and thus gain 'muscle' or ability. But because human beings secrete energy much more readily than stationary objects, ghosts are usually only able to move objects when someone is nearby. Why move a book, and use up that energy, if you aren't going to get it back anytime soon.

Also, the action itself determines how much energy is required. Its alot easier to push a coffecup across a table than it is to pick it up and 'float' it across. The laws of physics don't change just because someone becomes transparent.

What makes you think that ghost is as thin as air?

Maybe this can help. It's an energy thing.

Ghost have chosen to not crossed over to the other side yet, because they feel like they have unfinished business. Ghost don't know that there dead.

Spirits have crossed over, and their more likely to manipulate things, insects, and move things. Spirits feel like were the dead ones compared to the other side.

Umm.. O.x

Ghosts are made of energy. The same energy that you can feel if you clear your mind right now, hold your hands (palms in) about a foot apart and bring them in slowly. Move them back and bring them in again. What you feel is your aura, also made up of energy.

When learning to move things with your mind (telekinesis), you would visualize an arm branching off of your aura and out to the item to be moved. This energy-arm would grasp it and pull or push to move it. While it more than likely won't happen on the first try, it is very possible.

This is how ghosts --energy-- moves things. Hope it helps ^.^

Friend.

I do not know whether they can move things or not.

If A substance becomes more thinner (Subtler) then it gains more power.
an atom bomb, take for example, is more powerful as the atom is so Subtle.
Stula (Gross) is less powerful always than Sukshma(Subtle).
This can be seen in any thing.

They use the same methods telekinetics use; namely psychic energy.
it takes them the same amount it would take you or I, but they have a technique of getting the energy from you... they inspire fear and then feed from it.
If you focused the same amount of energy you gave them in fear you could move the thing back.
