No offecnce, not trying to be racist here.

I work in Bahrain and im from Maldives, the amount of rude Indians I get it socking.
I'd say 95% of them can be so rude, they always speak so harsh...
I dont know how to handle it but I dont think that anyone should be disrespectful towards other people.
I try to be friendly and they dont know how to appreciate it. I do realise that this is very much culture back at home that causes them to be this way but... I love Indian culture, bollywood and some of them are great!

But why are they so rude towards people, many of my friends from different countries even told me that Indians are rude & thats they way they are...
Why is it so???

No hard feeling please, im not hurting anyones feelings.

May be it's too much curry in thier diet, or the amount of hair on thier body make them be rude.

I don't think this question is racist or rude at all. You really want to know...

I think that anytime anyone from another country goes into THEIR country to make money, you are going to have that kind of rudeness against a "non-citizen." My younger brother, (who is 28), was in India this working for his well-known computer company that is bringing millions of dollars to the Indian infrastructure. So do you think the government, much less the people who work for the company, would be friendly? Not in the least! My brother was actually worried a number of times that he might get killed! I was terrified for him. It shouldn't have to be like that.

I think that racism will go away, but only as new generations are born and taught not to hate. It's mainly the older generations, and by older I mean anywhere from 35 years old and up, that seem to perpetuate the hate, especially based on a person's skin color. It doesn't matter what country you go to, there is always the "race" card to deal with. And you'd think in this modern day we'd be more enlightened!!!

I'm sorry for the huge novel but I feel strongly about racism as you can tell!!! I hope this helped even a little bit! Good luck on your quest!

There is a way certain Indian people ask questions. I'm Inidian and from India and now I live in U.S for a while and I have noticed this. Americans(most) say: May I take a look at....blah blah Some Indians say: Let me see that Americans (most) say: Can i please have 1..this and that Indians (some): I want 1 of this.. So, it's the way some talk..but Inidians are some of the nicest people in the world. But, yea.

That's interesting, because I've been struck by how polite Indians are. The ones I have met live were in America, so maybe that makes more of a difference to them than I imagine. But the ones on the Internet that I know also seem to have positively elegant manners.

Is it a race thing against your people especially? This surprises me quite a bit.

P.S. Having read the other people's answers, another thought occurs to me: is part of this your interpretation? I mean, are they really being what others would consider rude, or just different in a way that seems rude to you because you don't know enough about their culture? It seems lots of times people misinterpret what are normal ways, such as when Americans talk to Chinese and the Chinese stand too close by American standards. They are "invading my space" but to them, that's the normal distance.

Plz don't judge all the Indians based on the ones that u see in ur everyday life. Never judge an entire ethnicity by what u or ur friends see. I am an Indian. I try to be nice to everyone. i really do. I am sorry to hear this. I hope u can work things out. I

ok, first of all your name is arjun, you must be an indian??

second, i am an indian, and NO, i am not rude at all.. but YES, there are some people who are like that, i had seen and met them, but just so you know, not all are like that.. maybe the old ones, yes they do some of them, but i dont think the young ones, like my generation do the same thing..

it's very embrassing though that why they should act in that kind of way, cos as i can say proudly that mostly indians are educated.. but...!!!!!

Edit: i agree with the girl below me who post about his brother, and i forget to tell you something, when i visit india last 4 years, you would be shock as how THEY act RUDE to me, they think i am some kind of tourist, cos i have fair skin and dress up diffrent way (i was born in indonesia, and i still live here).. but, just so you know not all of them, i dont find your question racist as all, come here and meet the INDIANS here, you will change your mind :)

Hmm thats like it is here. Except its not Indians, they are chaldean. You know what that is right? All of the people from the midd-east, Iraq, Afgan, those countries. They are the most rude, disrespectful people in my city. My mom said its because their parents give them everything, so they expect everything from everyone else. All of the chaldeans here have hummers, escalades, SUV's, with spinners on all of them. And I don't live in a rich city at all. But the people here are just so rude. So I know exactly what you mean by that. There are a few Indians, one of them is a totaly racist, but he's funny. Other than that, I dunno.

i dont think its nothing sort of it but just would like to make you aware that there are also many people in this world who are rude as well and do speak harsh ...its only because of their nature or also because they might not in their normal mood as they are actually.
i think you stayed in such place where where you found people rude and then just made a calculation of 95% rude..

My dad used to work in Saudi.. and i'm sorry i have to disappoint a lot of people who have answered your question but I know what you are talking about.

He has experienced many not so nice experiences from a group of Indian workers he used to stay in the barracks with. To avoid further conflict he decided to stick with his fellow Filipinos. Like you my dad had the misfortune of meeting the not really nice ones. I'm sure with all nationalities there are the good and the bad ones but I'm pretty sure too that with a few of what people call 'racist' remarks, there's some grain of truth behind it.

I think may be some of the Indians must be, but not all, but I've also experienced rudeness with foreigners (Not Asians). Because we are not as Fair as they are.
Indians- But I think when they make their group when they meet eachother.
Well, I don't think, but maybe only 20% of Indians are rude, not more than that.

I live in Kuwait and there are many Indians here, too which are some of the kindest people I have ever seen in my life.

The behaviors that you consider "rude " may be because of their shyness. As you probably know, they are not very appreciated and treated kind by locals. That is why they may seem to stay distant from others.
