i recently got a cleaner shrimp for my saltwater aquarium its got vivid red and white stripes that run its whole lenth and reminded me of a candy cane so i named it kandy..well 2 days later i awoke to find what i thought was kandy floating around on the tank bottom ...she had molted.......gentlemen please welcome to the center stage "Kandy Kane"...who knew she was a stripper !!! ps shes healthy and doing great ( i thought it was a funny story thought i would pas it along..its true)

It kind of freaks you out the first time they shed, I have a couple of freshwater shrimp in a tank and was quite upset when I thought one had died, only to find they were still both there a few days later.

Everyone who keeps pets of any kind should know all of this sort of thing before they buy the animal. It's not possible to care for an animal,if it's life requirements are not known.
In this "information age" there is no excuse for not knowing everything about a pet's needs.
I'm glad this worked out,but do your homework next time.
